St. Rose  PCCW Meeting

ST. Rose School Hall

 

     A pot Luck meal was enjoyed by all including our guest entertainers for the evening. Sister Sandy led us in saying grace. The Step N Sisters then delighted everyone with their talents. 

 

     President, Anne Beggs opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance. The guests were introduced.  Minutes were read by acting secretary Cathy Schauder, It was moved by Leeann Little and seconded by Dawn Peeters to accept the minutes as read.  Motion carried.

     Treasurer, Marilyn Smith gave the treasurer’s report.  We have $3279.70 in our checking account and $2896.97 in our CD.  That gives us a total of $6175.79. It was moved by Betty Wicker and seconded by Agnes Zieries to approve the report for audit.  Motion Carried.

     Thank you notes from Abigail Wagenson and Ben Brulla, the students who won the camping scholarships were passed around. 

    President Anne gave a report on the Vicariate IV meeting that was held on  April 24th here at St. Rose.  It went well with 50 people in attendance. Thanks to all who worked on this event.

       Donna Dohr and Joy Ewert reported that the nursing home visiting, etc was going well. 

       Agnes Zieries of the funeral lunch committee stated that supplies have been ordered.  She also stated that the Theresa Ritchie family donated $200 in spite of the fact that the lunch was out at the Golf Course.

     President Anne Beggs reminded everyone that it is important to the families that we are well represented for Honor Guards.  Individual indicated that they would also like to be added to the Honor Guard calling list. 

     During the month of May we will be saying the rosary before the weekend masses.  Members volunteered for some of the times. 

     Anne Beggs and Marilyn  Smith gave a report on the leadership seminar in Plover.

     To assist in obtaining money for the Water for Life program it has been decided to have a social and informative event on the weekend of June 7th & 8th.  It will give the entire parish a chance to donate.  Marilyn Smith volunteered to chair this event.  

     St. Rose will be hosting the Lenten breakfast next year for the community.  It was recommended by President Anne  to have 4 different groups work,  one for each of the breakfasts.

     Ann Seigel will be retiring  after 31 years of service to our church.  We are  planning a thank you social for her after mass on Sunday May 25th.

     A confirmation social will take place Wednesday May 14th  after Confirmation. Needed are Bars, volunteers to assemble sandwiches and people to serve at the social.

     Pat DeGroot installed our new officers for the year 2008-2009.  They are as follows:  Leeann Little- President, Sally Schroepfer- Vice Presdient, Toni Wernberg – Secretary and Marilyn Smith – Treasurer.

     A new policy has been established in place of a door prize at our regular meetings.  It is to bring items for the food pantry and no longer have a door prize.

      Thanks to Agnes Zieries  and her helpers for taking care of the Pot Luck meal.  Next meeting will be a pot luck  held Tuesday October 7th at 6 PM  in the school hall. 

     Out going President Anne Beggs was presented with a floral arrangement for the wonderful job she has done in the past three years. 

      It was moved by Betty Wicker and seconded by Rose Belgado to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried.
