Sr. Sandy Peterson,SSND
Pastoral Associate
Email

Sister Sandy came to serve as pastoral associate on July 1, 2002. She loves being "S'ter," which is a good thing, since she is the second oldest of eleven, having four sisters and six brothers. While a student at St. Nicholas School in Freedom, Wisconsin, Mary Jane was inspired by her teachers, the School Sisters of Notre Dame, to join their life of dedication to God and his people.

After eight years of study and formation, she was given the religious name, Sister Mary Sandra, and became "S'ter" once again to an even larger family. Her ministry of teaching took her to Wisconsin Rapids, West Bend, and Berlin, Wisconsin. After teaching seventeen years, Sister Sandy moved into a new ministry of pastoral work, which was becoming an increasing need in the church.

She worked in Oconto, Wautoma, and Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, before coming to St. Rose and St. Mary's. Sister Sandy is grateful for the way she can spend her time being

available for the various needs of the people in the parishes and ecumenical community.

Her hobbies are "hands-on" projects, especially crocheting and sewing. She enjoys spending time with her family and community. Sister Sandy has experienced the hundred-fold reward Jesus promised as she was surprised with the gifts of two pilgrimages to the Holy Land and one to Medjagore by anonymous benefactors.
